General Donations
The Genealogical Association of Nova Scotia is a Charitable Society, governed and managed by volunteers.
Our current operations are financed by: membership dues (45%); user fees and fund-raising (30%); and investment income (15%). The general donations we receive for operations are, therefore, not incidental, but are what closes the gap. They are the difference between breaking even and running a deficit. We are grateful to all those who can help us this way.
We also attract donations, though, for specific purposes. The drop-down menu at the top of the page identifies three capital projects we are developing that will make a long-term difference: (1) the A. F. Church Map Project, (2) the Annual Heritage Lecture, and (3) The Punch "Festschrift" Project. In order to get to the long-term, of course, we need to keep afloat and a General Donation from you helps with that.
If you have any particular notes about your donation, enter them in the "Donor Comments" box when you make the donation. We will send charitable receipts in February of the following year for donations at or above $20.00. There will be an option for paying via credit card or cheque.
Thank you for your donation.
